A new Australian Open Photobook was today released in the App Store, giving fans a pictorial timeline of the first Grand Slam tournament of the year.
Titled ‘Open Shutter’ the app for iPad will provide fans with the best images from Melbourne Park telling the story of Australian Open 2013 across day and night sessions.
Open Shutter includes a summary of each day’s events and a timeline of highlights in world-class photography that can be shared across social networks.
Free to download, the first edition of the app features a commemorative review of the 2012 event, won by Novak Djokovic in the men’s event and Victoria Azarenka in the women’s.
“Tennis lends itself to such magnificent photography,” said Tennis Australia digital and publishing manager, Kim Trengove.
“We feature these images prominently on the official Australian Open website, but also felt that the iPad was the perfect vehicle to showcase the best photography. It’s something that fans can keep very close at hand, and continue to enjoy well after the Australian Open ends.”
The Australian Open runs from 14-27 January 2013.
